Apple Cinnamon French Toast

INGREDIENTS

For the french toast

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup Vanilla Mariani Walnutmilk

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

  • 8 slices challah or brioche bread

  • Butter or oil, for greasing the pan

For the apple topping

  • 2 large apples, diced

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons water

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make the french toast batter. In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, walnutmilk, cinnamon, and maple syrup until evenly combined.

  2. Bring a medium skillet to medium heat. Grease the skillet, then dip a slice of bread in the french toast batter. Make sure both sides are completely coated. Add the battered bread to the pan and cook for 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Repeat this process until you have used all of the bread slices.

  3. Sauté the apples. Bring a medium skillet to medium heat. Add the apples, butter, and water to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until the apples begin to soften. Then add the cinnamon and brown sugar to the pan with the apples, and sauté for an additional 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.

  4. Top the french toast with the apples and a touch of maple syrup, serve, and enjoy!
