Peppermint Mocha Latte


INGREDIENTS

For the peppermint chocolate syrup:

  • ¼ cup sugar

  • ¼ cup water

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract

For the peppermint mocha latte:

  • ¼ cup strong-brewed coffee

  • ¾ cup Vanilla Mariani Walnutmilk

  • 2 teaspoons peppermint chocolate syrup

  • Optional: whipped cream, for topping

  • Optional: crushed candy cane, for garnish


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make the peppermint chocolate syrup. Add the sugar, water, and cocoa powder to a small skillet or saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir over heat for 5-8 minutes, until the sugar is melted and all ingredients are evenly combined. Stir in the peppermint extract. Store the syrup in an airtight container in the fridge until you are ready to make your latte.

  2. Heat the walnutmilk in a small skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, until warm. Add the coffee, warm walnutmilk, and peppermint chocolate syrup to a mug and stir to combine. Top with whipped cream and crushed candy cane is desired.
